Baked Brie Appetizer

A Baked Brie Appetizer with Caramelized Onions, Raisins and Pecans..

How could you go wrong with a baked brie recipe that melds caramelized onions, melted brie, plump golden raisins and crunchy pecans into one delicious appetizer?

Serve this easy appetizer recipe with slices of crusty French bread cut on the diagonal, or wedges of pear or apple...

You will need:

1 medium yellow onion chopped

2 tablespoons butter

1 Brie cheese wheel (about 15 ounces)

1/2 cup golden raisins

1/2 cup chopped pecans

French bread slices and/or sliced apples or pears

How to caramelize onions...

In a small covered saucepan, cook onion in hot butter over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until tender and golden, stirring occasionally.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Place Brie on an ovenproof plate or baking sheet.

Scatter the raisins on top. Top with the caramelized onion and sprinkle with nuts.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is softened.

If baked on baking sheet, carefully transfer warm Brie from baking sheet to a serving platter.

This recipe for baked brie serves 8 to 10.
