Cedar Plank Salmon


A cedar plank salmon is a simple, satisfying and healthy supper to make for family and friends.

Be sure to soak the plank for at least half-an-hour before you use it--otherwise it will singe on the grill.

Salting the plank flavors the skin in this simple salmon recipe.

Enjoy this grilled fish recipe with a crisp green salad, a cold beer, or a chilled glass of wine.

For this delicious salmon recipe you will need:

One 2 pound piece of salmon

2 tablespoons grainy mustard

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

˝ teaspoon chili powder

Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper


Combine mustard, ketchup, rosemary, olive oil, chili powder, salt and pepper.

Spread over fish and marinate for 30 minutes.

Heat grill to high heat.

Place soaked cedar plank on grill and leave for 3 to 4 minutes or until you can smell or see smoke.

Immediately turn plank, salt it liberally and place fish on top, skin-side down.

Close cover and cook for 12 to 15 minutes or until fish is just cooked.

Remove plank from grill and slip salmon off, onto serving platter.
