Mussels Steamed in White Wine
This mussels recipe, a traditional Greek recipe, is so simple, so elegant, and so delicious!For this mussel recipe you will need: 2 pounds of mussels 1 cup white wine 2 medium onions, finely chopped Salt and freshly ground black pepper to your taste 2 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped Lemon wedges to garish
Discard any mussels with broken or open shells. Clean remaining mussels with a stiff brush and cut off their “beards”. Wash well in running water and let drain. To a large stockpot add the finely chopped onions, half the parsley, wine and mussels. Cover pot tightly and boil over high heat for 6 to 8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve the mussels garnished with the remaining parsley, and garnish with lemon wedges. This recipe for mussels serves 4
